About

Photography has been a part of my life since I took my first class in the art at the age of 15. When I was in college it was a side job. As a science major I stimulated the left side of my brain, while the right side of my brain kept busy perfecting my photography. After seeing images I had taken of my children some friends requested I take pictures for them. They were so pleased with the images they suggested I start a business. I loved the idea, so in 2007 I started my photo business.
My passion has evolved greatly over the past three years I have been in the business of taking pictures. It seems the more I learn the more I realize how much there is to know. Being originally trained in film photography and old school darkroom developing I have spent the past three years increasing my digital knowledge and equipment.

Photography is a wonderful compliment to my science teaching job. I find they balance each other like yin and yang.

I try to capture personality and angles that evoke emotion. That is one of the reason’s I love photography. Every day the light is different and the challenge to capture the magic is too. I try and create a relaxed fun setting for my models. One of the most enjoyable aspects of taking pictures is when people look at the images and are filled with the feelings of that moment in time.

Why do I love documenting families (including my own)? Time passes quickly. Photography lives on perpetually. It is what you have in the end.
